a real perfectionist. He gave me such good ideas when I was in a
quandary about decisions. One of the best things that happened to me

this cottage and were immediately at the end of the telephone or on
the email when needed....

We are writing to say
“Thanks” for your part in building a great house for us!
First,
the excellent design and planning and project-management services
that you provided played a big role in helping us finalize the floor
plan and get the foundation and building shell completed on time.
The finished package is attractive and very tight and
energy-efficient. The house works well and should look great for
many years to come with a minimum of maintenance.
Second, thank you for your support in solving
problems and dealing with the technical issues that inevitably will
arise during a construction project. We couldn’t have done it on our
own, and knowing that you and your people were there kept our blood
pressure down.
Third, choosing a contractor can be a risky
business. The risk was higher in our case because we were living in
Ottawa and didn’t know much about local builders around Perth. But
the contractor that you suggested to do the electrical and plumbing
work, design and install the heating and AC systems, install the
flooring trim and drywall, etc. did a first-class job. We
appreciated the fact that you visited the site regularly to make
sure that the work was going as planned. Again, this really lowered
our stress level!
In short: if you want to use us as a reference,
please do so. We’d be happy to talk to a potential client.

Wow!! Thanks for these (photos) Celine. I
can't tell you how much I feel like a kid in a

Hi Celine & Pat
I am writing this letter to thank you
personally for your professional help in making our "dream" cottage
become a reality. As you are well aware, this project began in late
2009 as a fairly straight forward renovation of an existing cottage,
but became a much more complex project involving extensive
modifications to the cottage design. We knew that there would of
course be some delicate issues regarding design and limits to
renovation based on the proximity of the original cottage to the
lake. However, we did not expect that we would have to delay
construction until a minor variance could be processed by the
township. This entailed, as you know, a redesign of the cottage, and
associated engineering reports and approvals by the RVCA to move the
project forward. Without your guidance and help, this would not have
been as painless as it turned out to be. I thank you for sticking
with us through this unavoidably slow process and in dealing with
all the issues that arose, and finding a way forward.
Your team was excellent in providing ideas and
options for the cottage and transforming these ideas into a final
design and a set of construction plans. You were also amazing in
scheduling all the contractors at a time of high demand, obtaining
the required documentation for permits, and overseeing construction.
Your choice of contractors was also excellent. The work was of the
highest quality and always exceeded the required standards.
Finally I want to thank you for your
professionalism, patience, honesty and integrity in all aspects of
the project. Both I and my wife felt that we had engaged a team that
we could trust and in fact, I feel we ended with more than a
business relationship. I feel that we now have a friendship that we
wouldn't hesitate to call on in the future.

Hi Pat and Celine
I have to send an email as
I don't have a phone at present. I just got back from checking out
the building site and I have to say how incredibly happy I am. Mr.
Blackburn and his family have done an amazing job in all aspects,
and the retaining wall they put up is exactly what I had envisioned
in my mind. In fact, it is almost a little freaky how close they got
it, they may have some sort of telekinetic powers. It really will
make the house so much more impressive on the exterior. Thank you so
much for everything you have done thus far making this dream a
reality for us I cannot wait to see the finished product!
Please also express my personaly gratitude to Mr. Blackburn and his
family for the incredible job they have done, I know that we are
paying for a service but they have left me so happy that they are
the people we are paying, (I know they already run a number of
businesses but they may want to considering doing hard/landscaping
as well, seriously). I also want to thank you both for being able to
secure and recommend such fantastic contractors, this entire process
thus far, even with the obstacles has been nothing but a great
